HOW do I book a house for Commissioning Week? STEP 1: Start by using our Commissioning Week homes search tool on this page- please do not search for Commissioning Week homes on other areas of our site. Select your year, # of people, etc. When you find a home you are interested in you can email us directly through the ‘Request a Reservation’ area on the property details OR if you have interest in more than one property you can gather the property codes and include them in the intake form above. STEP 2: Once we receive the property codes you are interested in we then send you the owners contact information to discuss the property and/or make arrangements to see the property. Some families arrange their mid to see the property if they are not able to themselves. Be sure to discuss all the details of your stay with the owner like # of people, children, pet allergies, length of stay (Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday) special needs and most importantly any party or entertaining plans during your stay. STEP 3: After speaking with the owner and deciding on a property you then contact us to proceed with the paperwork and payments. Payment: 50% due within a week of making the reservation, the balance and Damage Deposit are due in January of the graduation year. Rates do not include 6% Maryland Sales Tax for stays of 30 days or less. The houses that are also on our vacation homes registry require an additional cleaning deposit. STEP 4: Enjoy a very exciting week with your midshipman! Many families find a whole house rental to be the perfect alternative to a hotel. Not only is it economical compared to several hotel rooms, but there are also enormous savings in meals and relaxed entertainment. WHERE are these homes located? Commissioning Week Home Neighborhoods- Map Homes within walking distance tend to be small and expensive, and lack off-street parking. You get much more house for your money with options just a few miles away. WHEN do I book a house for Commissioning Week? In order to have our availability as accurate as possible, we like to work in a 18-20 month window, starting 2010 in January of 2009, for instance. Some owners may agree to commit earlier than that, and lots of owners only decide to be available in February or March of the graduation year. We have NEVER run out of good houses!
